Speaking to Global Radio and TV (GRTV) on Thursday, 15 October 2026, Lowe emphasized the need for adequate medical supplies, essential medications, modern equipment, and improved support for healthcare workers to enable them to deliver quality services to patients.

She also called on members of the public to recognize the rights and responsibilities of nurses, noting that healthcare professionals face significant challenges in carrying out their duties and deserve understanding, respect, and fair treatment.

Lowe stressed that nurses play a crucial role in the healthcare system and reaffirmed the commitment of healthcare workers to doing their best to provide appropriate care to patients, while underscoring that their welfare and well-being are equally important.
Addressing the Ministry of Health, she appealed for practical measures to tackle the difficulties affecting the sector and to strengthen the delivery of healthcare services across the country.

She further highlighted the importance of making healthcare more accessible and affordable, observing that not every Gambian has the financial means to travel abroad for medical treatment.

According to Lowe, strengthening healthcare services within The Gambia is essential to ensuring that citizens can access the treatment they need without facing unnecessary financial hardship.

Her remarks bring renewed attention to the importance of investing in healthcare infrastructure, providing essential medical resources, and supporting the professionals responsible for caring for the population.
“Health is everything” was the central message underpinning her appeal for improvements to the country's healthcare system.
