Farato, West Coast Region, The Gambia.

State TV GRTS has apologized to the public for not publishing Gambia Somalia game in a public statement, their management wrote.

“GRTS regrets its inability to broadcast the Gambia vs. Somalia match as previously announced.
In preparation for the intended broadcast, GRTS promptly engaged the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to secure the necessary rights. The request was referred to the relevant rights holders, who set the fee at US$10,000 per match. Following negotiations, GRTS reached an agreement with the rights holders to secure the broadcast rights.
GRTS subsequently undertook the technical arrangements to receive and transmit the match signal. However, the technical specifications provided to GRTS for receiving the signal proved to be inaccurate. Despite these preparations and the efforts of the GRTS technical team to establish a connection, the signal could not be successfully received.
Consequently, GRTS was unable to proceed with the broadcast.
GRTS recognizes the disappointment this may have caused viewers and football fans who were expecting to watch the match. We assure the public that all necessary administrative and technical steps within GRTS’s control were taken in preparation for the broadcast.
GRTS is reviewing its technical coordination and signal-verification procedures with the relevant rights holders and signal providers to strengthen the process and prevent similar challenges in future broadcasts.
We thank the public and football fans for their understanding and continued support.”
