A Finland-based United Democratic Party (UDP) loyalist has fired back at a National People’s Party (NPP) loyalist whose video went viral following a demonstration against electricity shortages.Speaking without hesitation, the NPP loyalist claimed that the protest is a clear sign that President Adama Barrow will win in 2026. "No doubt about that, this demonstration will make people vote for President Barrow again," he said.In response, UDP loyalist Sainey Jabbie fired back with a detailed writeup, urging the reporter:"Tell him to take it easy. This issue is equally important for the people of The Gambia. Tell him to calm down and respect the opinions of the people whose livelihoods depend on electricity.Let him reflect on his circumstances 20 years ago; situations change all the time. Many of them are benefiting from the system, and the collapse of the system would mean the collapse of their survival. My advice to him is to calm down. This issue is about the people of The Gambia. Gambian lives matter, and electricity is a basic standard of living in any decent society."
